About Alexander Atamian

Alexander Atamian was born in Hollywood, California, and raised in Glendale, where he graduated from Glendale High School. Since an early age, Alexander was keenly interested in finance, numbers, and how things worked as systems around him.

This path ultimately led him to the University of Southern California (USC), where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. As a student at the renowned Marshall School of Business, Alexander was exposed to business and financial theory, which became the bedrock for his career in accounting and leadership.

Starting at PwC

After graduating from USC, he got his start at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), one of the world’s largest and most prestigious accounting firms. There, he worked on audits and financial advisory for Fortune 500 corporations to mid-sized companies.

He spent three years there, developing skills in external audit, financial statement preparation, and compliance. This early experience at PwC helped shape his understanding of large-scale financial systems and regulatory compliance.

Advancing Through Leadership Roles

After leaving PwC, Alexander Atamian transitioned into private-sector finance and advanced through increasingly responsible positions at several companies. At Toyota Motor Sales, he managed general ledger closings, prepared financial statements for a $14.6 billion division, and led audits with PwC.

He was also a Principal at Singer, Burke & Company, responsible for executing audits, reviews, and business planning. Earlier in his career at Time Warner, he served as Internal Audit Manager, where he audited and prepared audits for multiple divisions.

At Toyota Financial Services, he performed treasury accounting for the firm and later served as a senior consultant for general ledger processes, investment reconciliations, and Sarbanes-Oxley testing. He was responsible for $8 billion in investments, $100 billion in debt management, and preparing schedules used in SEC filings.

Later, as Controller at Toyota Financial Securities Services, he managed accounting operations and implemented measures to improve reporting efficiency and internal control structure, reducing operating expenses by 15%. He also directed the complete month-end closing process and supervised groups of accountants, ensuring SOX compliance and adherence to corporate policies and procedures.

From there, Alexander accepted the position of Vice President of Finance at MUSA Auto Finance, where his work had a direct impact on business outcomes. He managed corporate finance, profitability forecasting, and financial planning, helping to increase company profits by 25%. Alex also created forecasting tools, managed audit and tax processes, and built strong relationships with external partners and banks.

Trusted Expertise across the Board

Today, as a Senior Consultant at Toyota Financial Services, Alexander continues to bring financial clarity and leadership to the table. He handles technical accounting issues, SEC reporting, and Sarbanes-Oxley controls. He also oversees tax planning and helps shape the company’s financial strategy.

Known for his calm under pressure, he works closely with executive management teams, ensuring that results are accurately communicated in line with expectations and corporate objectives.

Across all his roles, Alexander has built a reputation as someone who can balance the big picture with the details. He’s known for managing teams effectively, developing clear systems, and improving performance through process changes.

His expertise includes financial modeling, financial planning and forecasting (FP&A), GAAP and IFRS reporting, and experience with SOC 2 compliance. He has personally managed external audits, adhering to PCAOB standards, and has worked with top-tier firms, including PwC, throughout his entire career.

Professional Licenses That Add Value

In addition to his accounting skills, Alexander also holds several other important professional licenses that reflect both his dedication and broad expertise. These include:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Real Estate Broker’s License
  • Life and Property & Casualty Insurance License
  • Mortgage Loan Originator License

Alex is also highly skilled with various platforms, including SAP, NetSuite, Salesforce, Hyperion Essbase, Power BI, and SmartView.

Focused on Wellness and Values

Outside of work, Alexander is a very active and health-conscious person. He has a high regard for physical health, workouts, and everything related to anti-aging, which helps him maintain alertness and energy in his day-to-day life.

Personally, he is deeply rooted in Christian values, which shape his approach to treating others. Integrity, fairness, and quiet consistency drive him both in his personal life and at work.

He moved from Redondo Beach, California, to Frisco, Texas, in 2017 and still resides and works there. This afforded him a new home in a thriving business town, which enabled him to maintain a balance while continuing his career.

A Track Record of Giving

Alexander believes in giving back. Over the years, he has supported multiple charitable organizations. He has donated to the ASPCA, Shriners Hospital, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and Samaritan’s Purse for over eight years, nine years, and four years, respectively. His philanthropy is consistent and rooted in genuine care, not attention-seeking.
